Thanks for the reply. No, in fact there's probably only 2 users on it now, compared to 30 users and 3 line printers in its earlier days. I get the feeling that something is stalling it, whether it is a process or hardware. If a person hits enter multiple times while waiting for something to appear on the screen, when it finally does appear there will be multiple login prompts. So it's getting the signal, just not replying. And once we're logged in, the connection is great. Pinging the server anytime is immediate, so it's not a network issue. I'm stumped!

I am using SCO Unixware version 7.1.1 on a machine, when I start this machine, after logon, one message window appears " Message ! with Ok button ", when I click on Ok button it again goes to logon windows.

Hi, I need to run a command remotely, rsh is disabled so I'm trying to do this:
ssh myserver ls -lst /work/jsf

pam_issue - PAM module to add issue file to user prompt
SYNOPSIS
pam_issue.so [noesc] [issue=issue-file-name]
DESCRIPTION
pam_issue is a PAM module to prepend an issue file to the username prompt. It also by default parses escape codes in the issue file similar
to some common getty's (using x format).
Recognized escapes:
d
current day
l
name of this tty
m
machine architecture (uname -m)
machine's network node hostname (uname -n)
o
domain name of this system
release number of operating system (uname -r)
current time
s
operating system name (uname -s)
u
number of users currently logged in
U
same as u except it is suffixed with "user" or "users" (eg. "1 user" or "10 users")
v
operating system version and build date (uname -v)
OPTIONS

Turns off escape code parsing.
