Yeah, different greps support varying extensions to the few options defined by the standard. The GNU tools in particular have a lot of extensions. svn diff does not work very well with 2 local folders, so I am trying to do this diff using diff locally.
since there's a bunch of meta files in an svn directory, I want to do a diff that excludes everything EXCEPT *.java files. there seems to be only an --exclude option, so I'm not sure... (3 Replies)

ARGUMENTS
x The string to encode
DESCRIPTION
URL encode a string. You should use this to encode reserved characters in URLs that you wish to be passed literally.
// trying to pass "http://www.example.com" as a parameter
url = "http://localhost/test.cgi?url=";
url += urlEncode("http://www.example.com");
// url = http://localhost/test.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.example.com
Note that in the example above, encoding the whole URL would be incorrect - that would create a relative URL beginning "http://".
