Awk Help - toupper/tolower
Hi,

I am learning awk and faced few queries. Kindly suggest on the same. Where it is wrong.

Code:
$ awk '{if (toupper($1) ~ /a/) print $0}' inv 

$ awk '{if (toupper($1) ~ /A/) print $0}' inv -- Why this output
Jan  13  25  15 115
Mar  15  24  34 228
Apr  31  52  63 420
May  16  34  29 208
Aug  15  34  47 316
Jan  21  36  64 620
Mar  24  75  70 495
Apr  21  70  74 514

It should be like this.
Apr  31  52  63 420
Aug  15  34  47 316
Apr  21  70  74 514

$ awk '{if (tolower($1) ~ /A/) print $0}' inv

$ awk '{if (tolower($1) ~ /a/) print $0}' inv  ---why this output
Jan  13  25  15 115
Mar  15  24  34 228

Aug  15  34  47 316

It should be like this.

NAME

       igawk - gawk with include files

SYNOPSIS

       igawk [ all gawk options ] -f program-file [ -- ] file ...
       igawk [ all gawk options ] [ -- ] program-text file ...

DESCRIPTION

       Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1).

       AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like

	      @include getopt.awk

       in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.

OPTIONS

       See gawk(1) for a full description of the AWK language and the options that gawk supports.

EXAMPLES

       cat << EOF > test.awk
       @include getopt.awk

       BEGIN {
	    while (getopt(ARGC, ARGV, "am:q") != -1)
		 ...
       }
       EOF

       igawk -f test.awk
