My system is RHEL 5.5, bash shell
existing data:
2012/04/30,2012/05/01,2012/05/02,2012/05/03,2012/05/04,2012/05/08,2012/05/09,2012/05/10,2012/05/11,2012/05/14,2012/05/15,2012/05/16,2012/05/17,2012/05/18,2012/05/21
desired output:
additional 67 days appended to the end without Saturdays and Sundays and bank holidays.
I haven't tried anything as of yet as I'm not sure of what road to go down. But I have been looking at the date and cal functions to see if I need to use them.

After retrieving values from DB I have two datestamps in format:
12/01/2010:05:40:00 AM and 12/01/2010:06:00:00 PM.
general time format: MM/DD/YYYY:HH:MM:SS AM or PM
Any quick solution to get the difference of two in the format : 1 day(s) 12:20:00

DESCRIPTION
gearman_client_run_tasks() executes one or more tasks that have been added via gearman_client_add_task(), gearman_client_add_task_status()
or gearman_client_add_task_background().
gearman_client_run_tasks() can also be used with gearman_execute() if either non-blocking or background tasks were created with it.
RETURN VALUE
gearman_return_t
If GEARMAN_PAUSE is returned one of the tasks has "paused" in order to give the caller an opportunity to take some actions (like read data,
handle an exception, etc...). See gearman_task_st for more information about the state of a task.
