Operating Systems AIX Increase LUN size in AIX with VIOS and HACMP Post 302606594 by enzote on Monday 12th of March 2012 08:41:05 AM

Map

The disk are in concurrent mode. If a run lspv from one node I got:

# lspv
...
hdisk3 00f6317b414624c2 vg_data concurrent
hdisk4 00f6317b41466700 vg_data concurrent
...

I tried export/import.

The disks are mapped through VSCSI.

I will make a test, unmapping the disks, running cfgdev on VIOS and then remapping them.

Thanks!

Hello!

This procedure works:

1.- Stop PowerHA services in both nodes.

2.- In VIOS A:
$ rmdev -dev vtd_data_A
$ rmdev -dev vtd_data_B
$ r oem
# rmdev -dl hdisk1
# rmdev -dl hdisk2
# cfgmgr
# chdev -l hdisk1 -a reserve_policy=no_reserve
# chdev -l hdisk2 -a reserve_policy=no_reserve
# exit
$ mkvdev -vdev hdisk1 -vadaper vhost0 -dev vtd_data_A
$ mkvdev -vdev hdisk2 -vadaper vhost0 -dev vtd_data_B

3.- Repeat step 2 en VIOS B.

4.- On node A:
# rmdev -dl hdisk3
# rmdev -dl hdisk4
# cfgmgr
# chdev -l hdisk3 -a reserve_policy=no_reserve
# chdev -l hdisk4 -a reserve_policy=no_reserve
# chdev -l hdisk3 -a queue_depth=10
# chdev -l hdisk4 -a queue_depth=10
# varyonvg vg_data
0516-1434 varyonvg: Following physical volumes appear to be grown in size.
Run chvg command to activate the new space.
hdisk3 hdisk4
# chvg -g vg_data
# varyoffvg vg_data

5.- Repeat step 4 on node B, except chvg -g.

Thanks for the support!

NAME
octave - A high-level interactive language for numerical computations. SYNOPSIS
octave [options]... [file] DESCRIPTION
Octave is a high-level language, primarily intended for numerical computations. It provides a convenient command line interface for solv- ing linear and nonlinear problems numerically. OPTIONS
The complete set of command-line options for octave is available by running the following command from the shell. octave --help DOCUMENTATION
The primary documentation for Octave is written using Texinfo, the GNU documentation system, which allows the same source files to be used to produce on-line and printed versions of the manual. You can read the on-line copy of the Octave documentation by issuing the following command from within octave. octave:1> doc The Info files may also be read with a stand-alone program such as info or xinfo. HTML, Postscript, or PDF versions of the documentation are installed on many systems as well. BUGS
The Octave project maintains a bug tracker at http://bugs.octave.org. Before submitting a new item please read the instructions at http://www.octave.org/bugs.html on how to submit a useful report. FILES
Upon startup Octave looks for four initialization files. Each file may contain any number of valid Octave commands. octave-home/share/octave/site/m/startup/octaverc Site-wide initialization file which changes options for all users. octave-home is the directory where Octave was installed such as /usr/local. octave-home/share/octave/version/m/startup/octaverc Site-wide initialization file for Octave version version. ~/.octaverc User's personal initialization file. .octaverc Project-specific initialization file located in the current directory.
