Methyl , Thanks for this usefull info about du cmd .

Can I do any thing with my /var/adm/sw dir as near about 2.5 GB utilization by this ..
was wondering if can move it to /usr and create a symlink over here as below
Code:

/var/adm/sw   -->>  /usr/backup-var/sw

or with any of below dirs ..
/var/ios
/var/stm
/var/vx

Which is less critical as per OS term ..am not aware ..

diagmond - Support Tools Manager daemon SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/stm/uut/bin/sys/diagmond DESCRIPTION
The Support Tools Manager (STM) provides three interfaces that allow a user access to an underlying toolset, consisting of information mod- ules, firmware update tools, verifiers, diagnostics, exercisers, expert tools, and utilities. Diagmond keeps track of the system hardware configuration which includes the list of tools available for each device. It also keeps track of which tools are currently executing or have been executed on each device. Application Usage This daemon will be deprecated on new server models.
