I have a script that queries a sybase DB through isql and appends to a file, say file.csv
I want to use the mail command in the shell script to email the file to me. i tried the following command but it doesn't work. can any one suggest whats wrong here. Note that i need the file as an attachment and not as body of the email.
When i run this on the command prompt and hit Ctrl+D it works but it doesn't in a shell script. Please advise

I use metasend to send an attachment to an email. The attached file has a .csv extension however when the email is received the extension is changed to .att. Does anyone know why ? I need the name to remain as .csv (1 Reply)

SYNOPSIS
script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
NOTES
script places everything that appears on the screen in filename, including prompts.
