that's how I killed a tsm-Cluster
, added one vg to a resource group that already had about 5 vgs, after a sync the resource group reconfigured itself, forcing unmount and mount
but you can safely add a new resource group to the cluster while it is running
don't know if this behavior has changed in newer power ha (6/7) releases

I am running Solaris 10 + VCS 5 in one of our environment. Recently one of my colleague configured all resources in a single service group.( ie, one service group which has all resources) ,Usually we create seperate service groups for Hardware & for application.

I have a requirement to monitor the HACMP Resource Groups. At present in my environment, if the Resource Groups fail over from preferred node to Secondary node we dont get notification.

scds_failover_rg - failover a resource group
SYNOPSIS

scha_err_t scds_failover_rg(scds_handle_t handle);
DESCRIPTION
The scds_failover_rg() function performs a scha_control(3HA) SCHA_GIVEOVER operation on the resource group containing the resource passed
to the calling program.
When this function succeeds, it does not return. Therefore, treat this function as the last piece of code to be executed in the calling
program.
PARAMETERS
The following parameters are supported:
handle The handle that is returned from scds_initialize(3HA).
RETURN VALUES
The following return values are supported:
SCHA_ERR_NOERR Indicates the function succeeded.
Other values Indicate the function failed. See scha_calls(3HA) for a description of other error codes.
