Of course you can specify abolute path.
The awk code can also easyly be adapted to handle better the naming and the location of the target file i just did a quick shot here.
i use some crap version of linux....which doesnt hv sed/awk plugin installed in it....i dunno bt code doesnt wrk wid sed/awk...cn u suggst wid grep or fgrep...

I am trying to capture logs of the script in the file as well as on the screen. I have used exec and tee command for this. While using exec command I am getting the correct output in the file but, script output is not getting displayed on the screen as it get executed.

DESCRIPTION
Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1).
AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like
@include getopt.awk
in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
OPTIONS
See gawk(1) for a full description of the AWK language and the options that gawk supports.
EXAMPLES
