What do you mean it "simply loads"? What are you actually doing? What actually happens? What software are you using?
This sounds like a software issue, not a UNIX one, and not a barcode reader one. Like I said, most barcode readers will just type the code in like what you'd get if you typed the code in manually. If typing the barcode into the system wouldn't produce the expected result, neither would scanning it. You must have the software in a state where it expects a barcode to be typed in.

In aix 5.2, we are trying to update with the latest subsets for "bos.adt.debug package". the subset version we have is 33 and the latest available is 95.

DESCRIPTION
GD::Barcode::COOP2of5 is a subclass of GD::Barcode and allows you to create COOP2of5 barcode image with GD.

$oGdBar = GD::Barcode::COOP2of5->new($sTxt);
Constructor. Creates a GD::Barcode::COOP2of5 object for $sTxt. $sTxt has numeric characters([0-9]).
plot()
$oGd = $oGdBar->plot([Height => $iHeight, NoText => 0 | 1]);
creates GD object with barcode image for the $sTxt specified at new method. $iHeight is height of the image. If NoText is 1, the image has
no text image of $sTxt.
ex.

barcode()
