Well i am right now working on an IBM P550 risc server with an HMC connected.. The server has 2 logical partitions (Lpar). both lpar is having Aix 5.3 installed.
Now I have a doubt.. is it possible to have Aix in one lpar and windows 2003 in another..

I have a HMC version 5.2, The HMC controls 4 lpars. I would like to install the powerchute on the HMC and have it be the master control to shutdown each of the lpars and the VIO server in order so no harm is done to the VIO server.

Machine Serial Number: 1078DCC

I have few SP Nodes running and alongwith that there is a console. All running Aix 4.3.

two question...
1) in which file the HMC events will be stored?
i talking about the log of the HMC console (lssvcevent).
2) The HMC function "Backup Critical Data" store the backup also on remote server through SFTP? In the documentation i read only FTP and NFS.

Maybe this is the wrong forum, but...
after upgrading one of our HMCs from 7.3.5 to 7.7.5 we detected two problems:
- older problem files ( /info/en_US/eclipse/plugins/p7eai/heapdump... , /opt/ccfw/data/vr ) are not deleted by chhmcfs
- HMC-scheduled backups via ftp to our nim-server don't run... (2 Replies)

I'm trying to rebuild a very old HMC 7315-C02 the hard disk has gone so needs replacing. I've managed to find an old IDE hard disk lying around but its obvious that it's had windows running on it as the HMC install disks won't recognise the format. I'm trying to install HMC V6 R1.2... (3 Replies)

systemd-ask-password-console.service, systemd-ask-password-console.path, systemd-ask-password-wall.service, systemd-ask-password-wall.path - Query the user for system passwords on the console and via wall SYNOPSIS
systemd-ask-password-console.service systemd-ask-password-console.path systemd-ask-password-wall.service systemd-ask-password-wall.path DESCRIPTION
systemd-ask-password-console.service is a system service that queries the user for system passwords (such as hard disk encryption keys and SSL certificate passphrases) on the console. It is intended to be used during boot to ensure proper handling of passwords necessary for boot. systemd-ask-password-wall.service is a system service that informs all logged in users for system passwords via wall(1). It is intended to be used after boot to ensure that users are properly notified. See the developer documentation[1] for more information about the system password logic. Note that these services invoke systemd-tty-ask-password-agent(1) with either the --watch --console or --watch --wall command line parameters. SEE ALSO
