Hi All,
Kindly help me in optimizing the server as it displays a great amount of CPU & MEM being utilised when the mysql process executes.
Below are the stats ---

Hi all,
I found like top command could be used to find the Memory and CPU utilization. But i want to know how to find the Memory and CPU utilization for a particular user using top command.
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
How can I find total CPU usage in percentage? e.g. if my system has 8 CPUs and I want to list total usage for all of them, is it possible through a command?
I have tried some of the commands like top, mpstat, sar. The output of those commands has to be manipulated to derive the percentage... (14 Replies)
Hi all,
Is it possible to get total memory usage and free memory usage without top? By Googling I found for total memory usage, use vmstat, for CPU, use mpstat, for disk I/O use iostat, is this correct? Will using sar gives the same result as ALL of these three (3) commands?
What about if I... (2 Replies)
Hi guys,
I have to set up a script which monitors the amount of AVG CPU load per each process and also the total load for a sum of processes.
The processes have the same name, I can only differentiate by port number they listen to, as follows :

DESCRIPTION
This section describes the functions used to create, set, use and destroy the dynamic CPU sets.
This API can be used with the POSIX threads, see pthread(3) and affinity(3).
The ID of the primary CPU in the system is 0.
FUNCTIONS
cpuset_create()
Allocates and initializes a clean CPU-set. Returns the pointer to the CPU-set, or NULL on failure.
cpuset_destroy(set)
Destroy the CPU-set specified by set.
cpuset_zero(set)
Makes the CPU-set specified by set clean, that is, memory is initialized to zero bytes, and none of the CPUs set.
cpuset_set(cpu, set)
Sets the CPU specified by cpu in set. Returns zero on success, and -1 if cpu is invalid.
cpuset_clr(cpu, set)
Clears the CPU specified by cpu in the CPU-set set. Returns zero on success, and -1 if cpu is invalid.
cpuset_isset(cpu, set)
Checks if CPU specified by cpu is set in the CPU-set set. Returns the positive number if set, zero if not set, and -1 if cpu is
invalid.
cpuset_size(set)
Returns the size in bytes of CPU-set specified by set.
