Hello, I need help in appending the line number of each line to the file and also to get the total number of lines. Can somebody please help me.
I have a file say:

ccc

ffff
The output should be:

Is there a limit on the number of lines that can be copied into vi editor from another file? When I copy some data items from a file into the vi, I see a limit of 1780 lines can be pasted. After that there seems to be a limit.
How can this be increased?

Igawk is a simple shell script that adds the ability to have ``include files'' to gawk(1).
AWK programs for igawk are the same as for gawk, except that, in addition, you may have lines like
@include getopt.awk
in your program to include the file getopt.awk from either the current directory or one of the other directories in the search path.
