ok, so i changed my locale to read japan and edited my environment file and rebooted the server

Code:
my-xftp0:~> locale
LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="ja_JP.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=
my-xftp0:~> whoami
priti

this is the root user local reading:

my-xftp0:~ # locale
LANG=POSIX
LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC="POSIX"
LC_TIME="POSIX"
LC_COLLATE="POSIX"
LC_MONETARY="POSIX"
LC_MESSAGES="POSIX"
LC_PAPER="POSIX"
LC_NAME="POSIX"
LC_ADDRESS="POSIX"
LC_TELEPHONE="POSIX"
LC_MEASUREMENT="POSIX"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="POSIX"
LC_ALL=
my-xftp0:~ # whoami
root

as a normal user, my df -h commands shows the following output:

Code:
my-xftp0:~> df -h
Filesystem サイズ 使用 残り 使用% マウント位置
/dev/sda1              50G  413M   47G   1% /
devtmpfs              1.9G  140K  1.9G   1% /dev

but as mt root the output is all in standard english

and this is my language output:

Code:
my-xftp0:~ # more /etc/sysconfig/language
