How to Sort files based on predefined values.?
Normally Sorting happens for the alphabetic or numberic orders..
Is there any way to sort a fields based on the Field values..?
Field10 has :
one
two
three
five
four
six
ten
seven
eight
nine.
in predefined order { one, two, three,... (2 Replies)
I have a comma delimited log file which has the date as MM/DD/YY in the 2nd column, and HH:MM:SS in the 3rd column.
I need to change the date format to YYYY-MM-DD and merge it with the the time HH:MM:SS. How will I got about this?

index_dump - Show the content of the index file
FORMAT
index_dump [options] file [ tag ]
where options are
--debug set debug level
--type specifies the num/date/char type of the index
--start defines the value to start dump from
--n prints also the total number of records
in the file
SYNOPSIS
index_dump rooms.cdx FACILITY
index_dump --debug=14 --start=Dub rooms.cdx ROOMNAME
DESCRIPTION
Index_dump prints to standard output the content of the index file. The type of the index is one of those supported by the XBase::Index
Perl module (cdx, idx, ntx, ndx, mdx).
The output contains the index key and the value, which is the record number in the correcponding dbf file.
For mulitag index files (like cdx), you need to specify the tag name to get the actual data.
