Thanks. That got resolved. I noticed another issue with while loop
for \01 in $line1 , ^A is written in the output . \02 is ^B, \03 is ^C and so on
eg. abc\main\02Run is written as abc\main^BRun in the $wrkdir/datatemp file.
Can anyone explain that why or how to resolve?

I am using the while-loop to read a file.
The file has lines with null-terminated strings (words, actually.)
What I have by that reading - just a first word up to '\0'!
I need to have whole string up to 'new line' - (LF, 10#10, 16#A)
What I am doing wrong?
