I'm trying this command - but get this error.
Do you guys have any workaround for this?

Dear All ,
I have the query
cat temp.txt
|28-07-1997|IF_LEG_DCCT|TOV JV sdfsdfdsfdsfdsCLOSED* KIEV|381015280
I need to count the number of fields in this pipe-seperated file. I beleive this is possible via AWK command.
The in above file, output of the count should be 5....

I'm trying to compare 2 files for differences in a selct number of fields. When differnces are found it will write the whole record of the second file including appending '|C' out to a delta file. gr_plot_char - plot samples versus time for byte/char data SYNOPSIS
gr_plot_char: [options] input_filenames DESCRIPTION
Takes a GNU Radio byte/char binary file and displays the samples versus time. You can set the block size to specify how many points to read in at a time and the start position in the file. By default, the system assumes a sample rate of 1, so in time, each sample is plotted versus the sample number. To set a true time axis, set the sample rate (-R or --sample-rate) to the sample rate used when capturing the samples. OPTIONS
