The first field is the username. The fifth field amounts to a title, and isn't really used that much. Some UNIX systems occasionally use it for special purposes.
The username is supposed to be all lowercase letters, digits, or underscores, no spaces or anything else, so a more descriptive name to attach to a user can be useful sometimes.

Hello. I'm getting very odd behavior when I try to change a user's password in Solaris 8. The shell, where it used to ask for a new passwd and a confirmation, now asks FOUR times, with two success message.

mssql_field_name - Get the name of a field
SYNOPSIS
string mssql_field_name (resource $result, [int $offset = -1])
DESCRIPTION
Returns the name of field no. $offset in $result.
PARAMETERS
o $result
- The result resource that is being evaluated. This result comes from a call to mssql_query(3).
o $offset
- The field offset, starts at 0. If omitted, the current field is used.
RETURN VALUES
The name of the specified field index on success or FALSE on failure.
EXAMPLES
