Yes on both count. The file is from gnote. They represent the carriage return I did to see more clearly. But? Now I understand what your thinking.
Code:
sed 's/title/\nsize/g' gnote.note |grep title

This doesn't work either!!

Hi all, I have the following xml file : <xmlhead><xmlelement1>element1value</xmlelement1>\0a<xmlelement2>jjasd</xmlelement2>...</xmlhead> As you can see there are no lines or spaces seperating the elements, just the character \0a. DOMDocument::saveXML - Dumps the internal XML tree back into a string

SYNOPSIS
public string DOMDocument::saveXML ([DOMNode $node], [int $options]) DESCRIPTION
Creates an XML document from the DOM representation. This function is usually called after building a new dom document from scratch as in the example below. PARAMETERS
o $node - Use this parameter to output only a specific node without XML declaration rather than the entire document. o $options - Additional Options. Currently only LIBXML_NOEMPTYTAG is supported. RETURN VALUES
Returns the XML, or FALSE if an error occurred. ERRORS
