Operating Systems Solaris prtdiag output for Solaris on Fujitsu hardware shows vendor as Sun Microsystems Post 302557495 by plmachiavel on Wednesday 21st of September 2011 10:37:44 AM

Oracle and Fujitsu are working together to develop the SPARC64 architecture.

If I take an _old_ example: T2000. You can have a "Sun branded" on and a "Fujitsu branded" one to but both have the same hardware.

UNIX Server SPARC Enterprise T2000 : Fujitsu Global

Who built it first? I can't tell you.

Same thing for M series etc ...

It's also a fact that both vendors offer hardware support for the whole plateforms.

Check the vendor-ids from "prtpicl -v" you'll be surprised.

And no, SPARC is not an Oracle trademark. It was developped by Sun in the late 80s. It's Sparc International's trademark.

IMHO, Fujitsu will buy Oracle's hardware developement divsion / technical support people.
