Understood... but again... I am forced to stand behind the statement I made earlier. You use what you must use. But you are right in that the majority case, your soln will work... mine works with that and everywhere else (just saying....).

I have created a Unix Shell script whch creates a *.csv file and export it to Excel.
The problem i am facing is that Users wants one of the AMOUNT field in comma separted values. Example :

SYNOPSIS
bool is_string (mixed $var)
DESCRIPTION
Finds whether the type given variable is string.
PARAMETERS
o $var
- The variable being evaluated.
RETURN VALUES
Returns TRUE if $var is of type string, FALSE otherwise.
EXAMPLES
