conditional symbolic link in Solaris 10
Hello World 
I want to create a conditional symbolic link in Solaris 10 so that if one destination becomes unavailable it should automatically point to another destination.
e.g. /dump/abc is destination.
/export/home/abc contains a copy of it
symbolic link should be /abc --> /dump/abc AND IF it's unavailable point to /export/home/abc
How can we do it in Solaris 10?

ln -s x.sh ./scripts/y.sh
and
cat ./scripts/y.sh
it is giving following error
cat: cannot open y.sh
Any reason u an think of ?
But it is working fine when i goto scripts directory and cretae the symbolic link.

/u05/swe/my (this is not a real directory)
I tried a symbolic link but it does not work

i had create wrong symbolic link on my server use this ln -s /opt/EBS /export/home/EBS, cause i had create an EBS directory on /export/home/EBS/ so the command ln create EBS directory on /export/home/EBS/EBS/....
how to remove the EBS that had created by ln command ?

i open terminal and join as root
and i wrote ln -s blah blah
then i wrote ls
i see red file called blah blah

Hello All,
This may be a silly question to some but I am really stuck.
Is there a way to reverse the following;
sudo rm /bin/sh
sudo ln -s /bin/bash /bin/sh

I have to set a soft link to a directory, e.g.
it’s done, however I want it make it permanent and in case if any program is pointing to /cms/cmsuat/server/cmu/contribution it should go to /cms/cmsUAT/server/cmu/Contribution. Need your help!

FS_WHEREIS(1) AFS Command Reference FS_WHEREIS(1) NAME fs_whereis - Reports each file server housing a file or directory SYNOPSIS fs whereis [-path <dir/file path>+] [-help] fs whe [-p <dir/file path>+] [-h] DESCRIPTION The fs whereis command returns the name of each file server machine that houses the volume containing each directory or file named by the -path argument. OPTIONS -path <dir/file path>+ Names each AFS file or directory for which to return the host file server machine. Partial pathnames are interpreted relative to the current working directory, which is also the default value if this argument is omitted. -help Prints the online help for this command. All other valid options are ignored. OUTPUT The output includes a line for each specified directory or file. It names the file server machine on which the volume that houses the specified directory or file resides. A list of multiple machines indicates that the directory or file is in a replicated volume.
