substitute (')

I usually use :

Code:
awk '{gsub(/xxx/,"yyy");print}'
to substitute xxx with yyy.

I have a problem substitute an expression like

Code:
x ' y
Because of the ( ' )

Any idea on how to get over this problem?

Thanks
