i got solaris 10 DVD and i install it on intel 64.
how do i set history to vi for command line? i can use backup space as well, it goes with "^H".
this won't work, export EDITOR=vi, it response with not an identifier.

I have upgraded my Solaris 10 2005 to Solaris 10 2007. I am facing one bug, id: 6550904. To override this issue I have done following changes in /etc/systems:
set max_uheap_lpsize = 0x2000

Hi,
Can someone explain in detail what 'uptime' ,'last reboot' and 'who -b' commands do in solaris.
this commands are not executing in every solaris box. why this is happening. Has solaris got some inbuilt commands into it. If yes then where i have found them?

I have installed Solaris 11 Express on my machine. I have problems trying to reboot the computer remotely.
When I log to the local console as the root-user and run
reboot
everything is fine.

we have a sun sparc solaris 10 machine and recently there was a power failure and one of the server domain was down. I am facing an issue on solaris machine as mounting a remote path is only done after reboot the machine. without rebooting its going to hanging state and no process either.

Locale::Script - standard codes for script identification

DESCRIPTION
The "Locale::Script" module provides access to standards codes used for identifying scripts, such as those defined in ISO 15924.
Most of the routines take an optional additional argument which specifies the code set to use. If not specified, the default ISO 15924
four-letter codes will be used.
SUPPORTED CODE SETS
There are several different code sets you can use for identifying scripts. The ones currently supported are:
alpha
This is a set of four-letter (capitalized) codes from ISO 15924 such as 'Phnx' for Phoenician.
This code set is identified with the symbol "LOCALE_SCRIPT_ALPHA".
The Zxxx, Zyyy, and Zzzz codes are not used.
This is the default code set.
numeric
This is a set of three-digit numeric codes from ISO 15924 such as 115 for Phoenician.
This code set is identified with the symbol "LOCALE_SCRIPT_NUMERIC".
