I use 2 vistual test-machines (2 CPUs )to send DNS messages to my DNS. I also use a Netra210 test- machine (on more CPU). I can get 23% with one machine. The strange thing is thar CPU load is not increase if I run DNSperf in 3 all machines. Not even if I run DNSperf locally on my DNS.

It seems this is a global thing affecting all the DNS bind versions prior to July 28 2008. I have my work cut out for me very soon, I see at least a handful of servers in my list that either need to patching or upgrading.

so we had bind 9.3.0...
we upgraded to 9.5.0 patch 1
we kept the exact same named.conf
now we have a problem that some DMZ server cant do lookups from our DNS slave anymore.
in the named.log we see things like this:

On one of my Solaris 10 box, CPU usage shows 100% using "sar", "vmstat". However, it has 4 CPUs and prstat and glance are not showing enough processes to justify high CPU utilization.

I've got a domain running on a few boards of a 25k. I'm seeing very high kernel cpu usage in top and cant' quite explain it. System runs a large number of smallish Oracle 10g2 databases (30), used mainly for development.

Hello,
Im installing solaris 10 on an x4270 server, but there is no DVD drive. I have only my windows laptop (with dvd drive) and direct access to the ILOM on the server via straight cable.
Does anyone know any tips on how to get the solaris installed using what i have?
