I've just found this my old post. I was very new to Linux and to this forum when I posted this question and today I can answer it myself, as I passed all four UNIX Academy pre-admin exams. So it's like talking to myself three months back, weird... The training set comes bundled with 4 exams. Two are about general command line skills and two about general networking under Linux. There's not surcharge for the exams. I owe to this training almost all of my initial Linux-UNIX skills. Today I would say it is very easy, but then in the beginning it was almost mysterious. The exam questions are about the subjects on training DVDs. So if you watch it carefully and perform the lab part (type commands on Linux machine) it shouldn't be a problem to pass it. Each exam comes with three attempts allowed, and I needed a second attempt only once, on second networking exam. Today I've got cheap Sun machine (but man, what a piece of hardware!!!) from ebay and I'm learning for Solaris Certification. I'm almost ecstatic about Solaris, what cool system! Last time I was that fascinated by technology, when I was 12 years old and received huge "DIY" technology set for my birthday! I remember, it was keeping me busy for a year! I'm still learning Linux, and I have CentOS installed on my another PC, but today Solaris occupies my mind really.
