Compiling and running Python code
Hey there,
First post here in the Unix forums, but I have used them a lot for research over the last year. Anyways, to why I'm here now:
I'm working on a project and I'll be using the AIS Parser SDK by Brian C. Lane (can't post the link, but google that and the first 8 links will be relevant) and I'll preferably do it in python. Why python? Mostly because it'll be easier than doing it in C. Problem is, I have no idea how to even get the included python code working. The included readme mentions using a buildit script compile the modules, but I can't seem to get the examples to work.
If you haven't figured out by now, I'm a python newbie. But as I stated above, doing this project in python would be easier than doing it in C (especially since regardless of which I choose, that's the language I'd be learning for the first time).
The one example I'm trying to get to work is in the sdk, located in the python/linux/examples/last_ais folder. Any help would be appreciated.

Recently I have a C Code and i compile on my pc with

I have python installed here on windows:
C:\Python27 and can run a script from the command line but would rather use cygwin.

Ren'Py is a programming language and runtime, intended to ease the creation of visual-novel type games. It contains features that make it easy to display thoughts, dialogue, and menus; to display images to the user; to write game logic; and to support the saving and loading of games. Ren'Py tries to be like an executable script, allowing you to get a working game without much more effort than is required to type the game script into the computer. Ren'Py is implemented on top of python, and that python heritage shows through in many places. Many Ren'Py statements allow python expres- sions to be used, and there are also Ren'Py statements that allow for the execution of arbitrary python code. Many of the less-used fea- tures of Ren'Py are exposed to the user by way of python. If you run the program without any arguments, zou will get an interactive launcher from where you can select, run and work different projects. For running a script, you need to give the full path to the directory that contains the game you want to play.
