I only turned on ssh for this box to test, but I am unfortunately many of our production devices are telnet. It appears that the expect buffer is not getting the "Username:" prompt eventhough the router is clearly sending it. I tried
"stty raw -echo but no luck.

I'm having a problem scripting Expect to work as a Nagios check. The script runs fine from the cli, but not when run as a Nagios check. I am building a script that evaluates the difference between 2 files. Here is a command that does not work transparently.

I wish to replace "\\n" with a single white space.
The below does the job on command-line:
$ echo '/fin/app/scripts\\n/fin/app/01/sql' | sed -e 's#\\\\n# #g';
