OK, so you need to
  1. open the file containing your record for reading and accept and reject files also
  2. while there are records in the file
    1. If the line matches a regex like the following
      Code:
      /^[0-9a-zA-Z]+|[0-9]+|[MF]$/

      1. write to accept file
    2. if on the other hand it didn't match
      1. write to reject file
  3. And finally let the user know you're done when you've processed all the records and close your open files.

       dpatch-list-patch - List available patches

SYNOPSIS

       dpatch-list-patch [options]

DESCRIPTION

       This  manual  page  documents  briefly the dpatch-list-patch command which simply lists the available patches in a dpatch-based source tree
       together with their accompanying comments.

WARNING

       dpatch is deprecated, please switch to the `3.0 (quilt)' Debian source package  format  instead.  See  http://wiki.debian.org/Projects/Deb-
       Src3.0#FAQ for a short guide on how to do it.

OPTIONS

       Without any options dpatch-list-patch will list the patches in the current source tree.

       -s, --sourcedir
	      Source directory. Defaults to .

       -h, --help
