hmm... sounds like a bug in old xscf firmware... a hard reset (pull power) might be the only solution to reset the xscf.

A couple of new M5000 servers will be arriving soon and I need to work out how to configure the underlying domains.
It will come with 4 x CPUS, 32 Gb of memory, 4 x HD, 2 x IOtrays.

Hi, I am now trying to setup XSCF mail reporting for a Sun M5K. There is no mail server here. Each Sun box is both its mail receiver and sender by using mailx. Mailx is working fine on this M5K.

This Sun M5000 currently has a single domain (0) created. Solaris 10 is installed on this domain with some local zones. Now we need to add a secondary hardware domain (1) to this M5000. My question: Can we keep the current OS settings on domain 0 when adding the secondary domain 1?

Hi,
I've configured this Sun M5000 to use two system domains (added a second domain to it). The following is the info about the settings. The showdevices command can't show devices on domain 1 because Solaris is not loaded on it yet.

I have an M5K with disk issues I'm trying to troubleshoot, and it's causing me some confusion. I know the host has four on-board HDDs, but the format command's output shows c0t0d0, c0t1d0, c3t0d0, and c3t1d0. cfgadm -al shows c0t3d0 as the DVD-ROM drive, and c1 and c2 as SAN disks. Confused yet?

I would appreciate some help.
I remotely access, across a VPN, an M5000 and when I connect to the XSCF I can then access the OS using console -d0 and then I can get to the console.

Trying to update my M5000 firmware. trying to mount my USB to upload firmware and getting the following message.
XSCF> getflashimage -v file:///media/usb_msd/FFXCP1115.tar.gz

Making sure mount point is clear
umount: /media/usb_msd is not mounted (according to mtab)

I took over an M5000 and have a jumper server with a nic to connect to the console IP of an M5000. access via ssh user@ip.
it was working fine, another person can connect remotely on the subnet, but when I ssh,it just hangs and then times out.

rplay - play, pause, continue, and stop sounds
SYNOPSIS
rplay [options] [sound ...]
DESCRIPTION
rplay is client that communicates with rplayd to play, pause, continue, and stop sounds using both the RPLAY and RPTP protocols. Sound
files can be played by rplayd directly if available on the local system or sounds can be sent over the network using UDP or TCP/IP. rplay
will attempt to determine whether or not the server has the sound before using the network.
OPTIONS
-b BYTES, --buffer-size=BYTES
Use of a buffer size of BYTES when playing sounds using RPTP flows. The default is 8K.
-c, --continue
Continue sounds.
-n N, --count=N
Number of times to play the sound, default = 1.
-N N, --list-count=N
Number of times to play all the sounds, default = 1.
--list-name=NAME
Name this list NAME. rplayd appends sounds with the same NAME into the same sound list -- it plays them sequentially.
--help Display helpful information.
-h HOST, --host=HOST, --hosts=HOST
Specify the rplay host, default = localhost.
-i INFO, --info=INFO
Audio information for a sound file. This option is intended to be used when sounds are read from standard input. INFO must be of
the form:
`format,sample-rate,bits,channels,byte-order,offset' Examples: ulaw,8000,8,1,big-endian,0
gsm,8000 Shorthand info is provided for Sun's audio devices using the following options: --info-amd, --info-dbri,
--info-cs4231. There's also: --info-ulaw and --info-gsm.
-p, --pause
Pause sounds.
--port=PORT
Use PORT instead of the default RPLAY/UDP or RPTP/TCP port.
-P N, --priority=N
Play sounds at priority N (0 <= N <= 255), default = 0.
-r, --random
Randomly choose one of the given sounds.
--reset
Tell the server to reset itself.
--rplay, --RPLAY
Force the use of the RPLAY protocol. The default protocol to be used is determined by checking whether or not the server has local
access to the specified sounds. RPLAY is used when sounds are accessible, otherwise RPTP and possibly flows are used. RPLAY will
also be used when sound accessibility cannot be determined.
--rptp, --RPTP
Force the use of the RPTP protocol. See `--rplay' for more information about protocols.
-R N, --sample-rate=N
Play sounds at sample rate N, default = 0.
-s, --stop
Stop sounds.
--version
Print the rplay version and exit.
-v N, --volume=N
Play sounds at volume N (0 <= N <= 255), default = 127.
