Another way to do it would be to loop through all the files something like this:
This command will give you the file's age in seconds: date -r "$f" +%s
This command does the same: stat -c%Y "$f"
The current time in seconds: date +%s
The file's size in bytes: stat -c%s "$f"
You might be able to make a nicer script with the individual pieces.

Afternoon,
the stat command is used against a file to ascertain date created and last modification time. However a different individual if they so chose could use the touch command to alter the date created or modification time.
Is there anyway to protect against this ?
thanks

I have noticed that the following command works
touch subtext_geopdf_to_.x
However this one does not
touch subtext_/geopdf/_to_/.x
How can I create such a file without making it think I supplied a path? (2 Replies)

i-ls
i-ls(1) General Commands Manual i-ls(1)NAME
i-ls - display file stat and checksum information for files
SYNOPSIS
i-ls [-s] filename
i-ls [-s] dirname
Specify a filename for i-ls to examine, or specify a directory with dirname to examine all the files in the directory.
-s
Do not show/calculate checksums for all regular files.
DESCRIPTION
The integrit system detects intrusion by detecting when trusted files have been altered.
integrit records information about files in a database. i-ls allows the user to see that information for live files.
The output syntax is the same as that of integrit.
EXAMPLES
i-ls /tmp/foo.txt
shows file stat attributes for the file, "/tmp/foo.txt".
i-ls /tmp
shows file stat attributes for all files in the directory, "/tmp".
i-ls -s /tmp
shows file stat attributes for all files in the directory, "/tmp", also including also checksums for all regular files.
