Another question about file manipulation using a different file type. Example is below and also expected output below. So basically I want to grep the contents of $F[0], $F[1] $F[4]and $F[5]. But the requirements for each feild are different. So Basically out put will be
$F[0]
$F[1] beginning - end, till $F[0] is the same
$F[4] in horizontal lines 100 chracters each "\n"
$F[5] in horizontal lines 100 chracters each "\n"

I have a bash shell script and I use awk to print certain columns of one file and direct the output to another file. If I do a less or cat on the file it looks correct, but if I email the file and open it with Outlook the lines outputted by awk are concatenated.

i have used comm -13 <(sort 1.txt) <(sort 2.txt) option to get the unique lines that are present in file 2 but not in file 1. but some how i am getting the entire file 2. i would expect few but not all uncommon lines fro my dat. is there anything wrong with the way i used the command?

I would like to print unique lines without sort or unique. Unfortunately the server I am working on does not have sort or unique. I have not been able to contact the administrator of the server to ask him to add it for several weeks. (7 Replies)

gri_merge - merge multiple Gri output files into a single PostScript file.
USAGE (style 1):
gri_merge [OPTIONS] CxR a.ps b.ps ... > merged_file.ps
Merges the files onto one page, in 'C' columns and 'R' rows. The CxR files are given in the order of words on a page. The page is pre-
sumed to be 8.5x11in in size, as are all the input files, and the input files are sized to fit, and kept in natural scale.
USAGE (style 2):
gri_merge [OPTIONS] xcm ycm enlarge a.ps [b.ps ...] > merged_file.ps
Where `enlarge' is a scale factor applied after offsetting `xcm' to the right and `ycm' upward.
EXAMPLE (style 2):
The following
gri_merge 2 12 .5 a.ps
12 12 .5 b.ps
2 2 .5 c.ps
12 2 .5 d.ps > all.ps
produces 4 panels from gri plots done using margins and sizes as specified in the following lines in a gri commandfile

The OPTIONS, available if your 'perl' has 'getopts' library, are:
-u graylevel -- set graylevel for underlay beneath panels, by default 0.75.

-b graylevel -- Set value for background under individual panels, again 0
for black to 1 for white, with 1 meaning no drawing.
-h-- Print this help message and quit.
