I have made some changes to the script and it worked once but not know.

The basics are I want to output a pass / fail if a file exists for a specified date. The script I have now is

Code:
if find /mnt/ukwcs-net-config/HyperConf/Bingley\ Road/172.16.100.0/172.16.100.20*.txt -type f -mtime -1 -print; then
        echo "***Backup completed***" 
else
        "echo ***BACKUP FAILED***" 
fi

The plan is that the backup runs each night from midnight on. so im trying to fine if the file is there within from midnight on for that day.

The output I get is always completed even when the file is not there for the range given.
this is repeated for different locations which hold the backup files and at the end it emails the results.
the reason im looking for files within a time frame is that all the different backup files I have are in different name formats and all contain the date in some format within the file name so I cant specify the file directly.

I may be going about this completely wrong so your advise appreciated.

NAME

       idevicebackup2 - Create or restore backups for devices running iOS 4 or later.

SYNOPSIS

       idevicebackup2 [OPTIONS] CMD [CMDOPTIONS] DIRECTORY

DESCRIPTION

       Create or restore backup from the current or specified directory.

OPTIONS

       -u, --udid UDID
	      target specific device by its 40-digit device UDID.

       -s, --source UDID
	      use backup data from device specified by UDID.

       -i, --interactive
	      request passwords interactively on the command line.

       -d, --debug
	      enable communication debugging.

       -h, --help
	      prints usage information.

COMMANDS

       backup create backup for the device.

       restore
	      restore last backup to the device.

	    --system
	      restore system files, too.

	    --reboot
	      reboot the system when done.

	    --copy
	      create a copy of backup folder before restoring.

	    --settings
	      restore device settings from the backup.

	    --remove
	      remove items which are not being restored.
