Imagine you have a hd with 400G for example... Your application is using 300G and you know that you'll need more space in the future ... What are you going to do if you can't juste stop your application and transfer it on another hdd with more space ? Well ith LVM you don't need to do that... you juste add more disks to your server, put them in the same volume group with the other one, and you juste give more space to the file system that you need. This gives you a lot of advantage believe me.

Try 'it before, and after you can make an opinion about it..
but i think every advantage tool have disadvantage too

and now i think more advantage of LVM but i want to know where LVM not recommended or not benefit
