Interesting. It does indeed work in "ksh" even though the syntax is only listed in "man ksh" under Conditional Expression. In the "man" for my Posix shell it is listed under "test" as an addition to the normal syntax for "test" which is itself cross-referenced to "man test".
I find that the syntax even works with /usr/bin/test even though "man test" does not mention it at all.

echo $n
I expect n to be 11 but it gives error message. What is wrong with this statement?
