Hi everyone, I'm new to this Unix forum..
Is BeOS free to download or where can i download it from?? I did find BeOS 5 Personal Edition but that runs under windows and i don't create any partition. I do run Windows XP pro and i like it alot. Does anyone know where i can get BeOS from that does... (1 Reply)

Hi all,
I have Windows XP dual boot with Ubuntu 8.10 on my system. I brought in a portable HDD on which I installed Ubuntu 10.04 32-bit. The grub boot loader was installed along with this and to boot windows, I've had to plug in the HDD (with lucid install) everytime. It had been working fine.... (0 Replies)

I could not find the appropriate forum for my problem to boot Ubuntu 12.04.2 server amd64 on Oracle Virtualbox(4.3.0 BETA1) within Win 7, so I posted here to start.

perlhaiku - Perl version 5.10+ on Haiku DESCRIPTION
This file contains instructions how to build Perl for Haiku and lists known problems. BUILD AND INSTALL
The build procedure is completely standard: ./Configure -de make make install Make perl executable and create a symlink for libperl: chmod a+x /boot/common/bin/perl cd /boot/common/lib; ln -s perl5/5.16.3/BePC-haiku/CORE/libperl.so . Replace 5.16.3 with your respective version of Perl. KNOWN PROBLEMS
The following problems are encountered with Haiku revision 28311: o Perl cannot be compiled with threading support ATM. o The ext/Socket/t/socketpair.t test fails. More precisely: the subtests using datagram sockets fail. Unix datagram sockets aren't implemented in Haiku yet. o A subtest of the ext/Sys/Syslog/t/syslog.t test fails. This is due to Haiku not implementing "/dev/log" support yet. o The tests lib/Net/Ping/t/450_service.t and lib/Net/Ping/t/510_ping_udp.t fail. This is due to bugs in Haiku's network stack implementation. CONTACT
