The simplest way is with ftp.
The easiest for users way is with samba. It makes an SMB (native Windows protocol ) share available to any windows box. Create a share on the Solaris box, then mount a share on the windows box. All of the files in the shared drive on Soalris are instaly available on the any PC you want. You can read only. Or read write to move files both ways.

This avoids the ISO problem.

Being a novice user to linux i m little unaware of how would i check disk read write speed.
One of my mate is suggesting to create a file using dd command and check how much time it takes to create a 30 gb file .

http_build_url - Build a URL
SYNOPSIS
string http_build_url ([mixed $url], [mixed $parts], [int $flags = HTTP_URL_REPLACE], [array &$new_url])
DESCRIPTION
Build a URL.
The parts of the second URL will be merged into the first according to the flags argument.
PARAMETERS
o $url
- (part(s) of) a URL in form of a string or associative array like parse_url(3) returns
o $parts
- same as the first argument
o $flags
- a bitmask of binary or'ed HTTP_URL constants; HTTP_URL_REPLACE is the default
o $new_url
- if set, it will be filled with the parts of the composed url like parse_url(3) would return
RETURN VALUES
Returns the new URL as string on success or FALSE on failure.
