Unix and Linux questions

Sorry for the dumb question......I got my B.S. in computer science Amazing how I don't these answers).....I wrote mostly in the language C in my college career. I wrote all my programs using a windows application for writing C.....and then after testing it, I would upload it to a UNIX system and test it. But I am still very inexperienced with using a UNIX operating system. Most jobs out there I want to get require me to be good in a UNIX environment. I recently download Linux but havent installed it yet.....so questions now...again Im sorry if they have been answered already, I havent seen anything on it searching....

What is the difference between UNIX and LINUX....? I know that Linux is a UNIX clone but will learning the ins and outs of LINUX hurt me when I try using a UNIX system?

Are there any free UNIX operating systems out there?

I want to partition my drive so that I have LINUX or UNIX AND Windows.......Can I have a partition that supports UNIX and Windows? I know I can with LINUX.....
