Thanks Anurag for the quick response. Unfortunately I can't post sample input but here is the scenario

Starting line (for tx - 1)
Transaction ID (Unique for each transaction)
End line (for tx -1)
starting line (for tx -2)
Transaction ID
End line (for tx -2)
.....
.....
starting line (for tx -10)
Transaction ID
End line (for tx -10)

The start/end lines are common for all the transactions. The transaction ID is present as part of the line in the middle of the respective transaction log.

Now, I have to write a script so that it can pull the requested transaction log (from starting line to end line) by searching the transaction ID from the log into a seperate file.

ingres_commit - Commit a transaction

SYNOPSIS
bool ingres_commit (resource $link) DESCRIPTION
ingres_commit(3) commits the currently open transaction, making all changes made to the database permanent. This closes the transaction. A new transaction can be opened by sending a query with ingres_query(3). You can also have the server commit automatically after every query by calling ingres_autocommit(3) before opening the transaction. By default Ingres will roll back any uncommitted transactions at the end of a request. Use this function or ingres_autocommit(3) to ensure your that data is committed to the database. PARAMETERS
o $link - The connection link identifier RETURN VALUES
Returns TRUE on success or FALSE on failure. SEE ALSO
