I'd like something versatile, as in being able to watch (like iostat, but easier to trend), generate load (like iozone, but more realistic), and perform somewhat generalized benchmarks (like bonnie, but more current.) Aix 5.3 I am trying to view the IO stats. I do the sar 5 5 but that is the WIO and si different than the IO stats right? I am just blanking on this. I know there is a command that I used to run that brings up a whole bunch of live stats that run live such as mem and so on just can't rememeber... (4 Replies)

Hi I'm writing a script to get overall system memory and cpu utilization in percentages, much like in top or with AIX's topas.

On each hop if Loss > 0 then I need to email the entire stats.

Is there a way to test disk i/o of a process in a similar fashion?
I am trying different methods to limit disk writes in a 24/7 daemon process and would like to

getlastmod - Gets time of last page modification
SYNOPSIS
int getlastmod (void )
DESCRIPTION
Gets the time of the last modification of the main script of execution.
If you're interested in getting the last modification time of a different file, consider using filemtime(3).
RETURN VALUES
Returns the time of the last modification of the current page. The value returned is a Unix timestamp, suitable for feeding to date(3).
Returns FALSE on error.
