Preferrably use 3 or more time servers. If you do not have 3 servers just use 1. It is better not to use 2 servers..

Hello
i want to connect my solaris & Linux boxes to ntp server
i used the command
/usr/sbin/ntpdate -s -b -p 8 -u <NTP-IP>
and added the NTP server as server in /etc/ntp.conf

All here, thank you for listening. Now I've set up a Linux NTP server by adding a external windows NTP server in /etc/ntp.conf. Then I start the ntpd daemon. But how often does the Linux NTP server update its time with the external NTP server? I've looked up everywhere but found no information... (1 Reply)

We had a network problem a couple of days before that caused 1 interface to down and up. But today I have noticed that our date is wrong, our system have 4 servers and the other 3 are OK.
I used <date> command, the result is: Fri Jan 2 17:57:55 ICT 1970

kumoctl - show kumofs status

Show status of kumo-manager and send control commands to kumo-manager.
COMMANDS
status show status of the cluster
attach attach all new servers and start replace
attach-noreplace
attach all new servers
detach detach all fault servers and start replace

STATUS
hash space timestamp
The time that the list of attached kumo-servers is updated. It is updated when new kumo-server is added or existing kumo-server is
down.
attached node
The list of attached kumo-servers. (active) is normal node and (fault) is fault node or recoverd but not re-attached node.
not attached node
The list of recognized but not-attached nodes.
AUTO REPLACING
By default, you have to attach new kumo-servers manually using kumoctl command. If the auto replacing is enabled, new kumo-servers are
attached automatically. This is experimental feature.
EXAMPLE
$ kumoctl mgr1 status
$ kumoctl mgr1 attach
