you can probly make you own timezone patch.
a number of unix versions have a official patch but you can often roll your own.....
source files can be found on the internet at
Sources for Time Zone and Daylight Saving Time Data
you will need to find your timezone source files.
try /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/src/
once you have found the location then update the timezone file for the zone your in and then run it through zic, and reboot system
# zic /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/src/<zonefile of choice>
# reboot

I am running a SUN E450 on solaris (5.7). I have applied the DST patch and the system time is correct. However when users login the get the time wrong (+4 hours) (I am in EDT Zone). Does anyone know where a system wide variable for this could be set. (Root user gets the right time)

Our aix unix box did not recognize daylight savings time since it was moved up. Could someone please give me the syntax to change the hour? I looked in man and couldn't find anything, or I missed it. I'm in 3rd grade so if you can, please provide specific instructions.

tzselect - select a timezone
SYNOPSIS
tzselect
DESCRIPTION
The tzselect program asks the user for information about the current location, and outputs the resulting timezone description to standard
output. The output is suitable as a value for the TZ environment variable.
All interaction with the user is done via standard input and standard error.
EXIT STATUS
The exit status is zero if a timezone was successfully obtained from the user, nonzero otherwise.
ENVIRONMENT
AWK Name of a Posix-compliant awk program (default: awk).
TZDIR Name of the directory containing timezone data files (default: /usr/share/zoneinfo).
FILES
TZDIR/iso3166.tab
Table of ISO 3166 2-letter country codes and country names.
TZDIR/zone.tab
Table of country codes, latitude and longitude, TZ values, and descriptive comments.
TZDIR/TZ
Time zone data file for timezone TZ.
