I can only get positive numbers or negative numbers.

I want to find the most positive and negative value for each row and also define its position (based on column #)

I have a list like this :

Is there a way to remove all the positive values and print only the negative values, without using grep, sed or awk?

sum - print checksum and block count for a file SYNOPSIS
sum [-r] [file...] DESCRIPTION
The sum utility calculates and prints a 16-bit checksum for the named file and the number of 512-byte blocks in the file. It is typically used to look for bad spots, or to validate a file communicated over some transmission line. OPTIONS
