If this isn't the fix, please post the whole script (blanking any passwords etc.).
Please state what Operating System you have and what Shell you use.
Please post the complete error message (case-significant with all punctuation). There is no Shell or Oracle which will just give an error message "syntax error: unexpected end of file".

i am running a script called "s1" which internally calls "s2"
now s1 starts running & at a point (where it is suppose to call "s2")

script - make record of a terminal session
SYNOPSIS
script [-a] [filename]
DESCRIPTION
The script utility makes a record of everything printed on your screen. The record is written to filename. If no file name is given, the
record is saved in the file typescript. See WARNINGS.
The script command forks and creates a sub-shell, according to the value of $SHELL, and records the text from this session. The script ends
when the forked shell exits or when Control-d is typed.
OPTIONS
The following option is supported:
-a Appends the session record to filename, rather than overwriting it.
