Operating Systems Linux Ubuntu Samba not working Post 302456914 by dothehustle on Sunday 26th of September 2010 11:36:49 PM

There seem to be a few log files in the /var/log/samba directory/

/var/log/samba/log.smbd is empty

Log by IP address of the offending device (log.IP) when I just tried now (can someone please let me know if it is safe to publish details of my system like this):

Interestingly, ls -lat reveals files by modification time and shows cat log.winbindd-idmap (but nothing up to 13:20, so just before the connection attempt?)

No other files in /var/log/samba have been modified today.

Code:
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9731 2010-09-27 13:20 log.192.168.1.99
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 815232 2010-09-27 13:19 log.winbindd-idmap
drwxr-xr-x 14 root root 4096 2010-09-27 07:44 ..
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 210 2010-09-26 14:39 log.winbindd
drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 2010-09-26 14:39 .
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 2010-09-26 14:39 log.nmbd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1026709 2010-09-25 16:37 log.winbindd-idmap.old

There have been new entries in /var/log/messages today (on another note, thankfully, the pulseaudio log filling issues plaguing Ubuntu a few months back seem to have been resolved).
