Does anybody know how to find out the number of open file descriptors ?

I currently run a very long script (two hour left...) on a remote computer through a ssh session. I wonder whats happend if I close the ssh session, or even, the terminal. Is the script running on remote will stop?

I am running a process in nohup .

When I close the putty terminal,The process is getting killed .

mysqmail-courier-logger reads the syslog using tail -F, and for each dovecot lines of POP3 and IMAP corresponding to a disconnection, mysq-

To have mysqmail-courier-logger working, you should have issued mkfifo /var/log/courier.fifo to create the fifo and use nohup cat
/var/log/courier.fifo | /usr/bin/mysqmail-courier-logger > /dev/null 2>&1 & to launch it.
