Unknown VGs
Hi Guys,
I found on one of the server there are 2 VG's which I dont have any Idea of who created .. as below
bash-3.00$ lsvg
old_rootvg
rootvg
datavg
altinst_rootvg
altinst_rootvg under is meant for alternate disk installation.. But I'm not sure for which version of OS it was created. Similar way the old_rootvg not sure what version of AIX is on both of this VG's
Is there a way I can figure out the version of AIX on both of this VG's without downtime for the server.
Please throw some light on this.

When I give lsvg command
It says no VGs found
When I give lspv,it gives a listing of all PVs corresponding to their respective VGs i.e. rootvg, uservg, etc.
But when I give lspv hdisk0
It says rootvg not found in Configuration Manager Database.

Remarks
If a combination of volume groups version 1.0 and 2.0 or higher arguments are supplied, then the arguments might not be processed in the

Before executing remove all logical volumes residing on the last physical volume by executing (see lvremove(1M)).
Before removing a volume group, two steps are necessary:
1. Remove all the logical volumes belonging to the group by using the command (see lvremove(1M)).
2. Remove all but one physical volume belonging to the volume group by using the command (see vgreduce(1M)).
If there is any physical volume group created under vg_name ..., the physical volume group information is also removed from file
