...what am i doing wrong??
I need to find all files older than 30 days and delete but I can't get it to pull details for ANY + times. The file below has a time stamp which is older than 1 day, however if I try and select it using any of the -time flags it just doesn't see it. (the same thing... (1 Reply)

I've made some test with perl script to learn more about mtime...
So, my question is :
Why the mtime from findfind /usr/local/sbin -ctime -1 -mtime -1 \( -name "*.log" -o -name "*.gz" \) -print are not the same as mtime from unix/linux in ls -ltr or in stat() function in perl : stat -... (2 Replies)

find $ADMIN_DIR/$SID/arch/ -name '*.gz' -mtime +7 -exec rm {} \;
is it retaining 7 days OR 8 days .gz files ?

I use many different machines at work, each with different versions of o/s's and installed applications. Sed in vi is particularly inconvenient in the sense that sometimes it will accept the "\r" as a carriage return, sometimes not. Same thing with "\n". For instance, if I have a list of hosts... Hi, so I was using mtime and its not behaving the way I would think its supposed too. I have two pdf files. One modified today and another 6 months ago. I upload them to the solaris server. Then I run the below find statements.
This finds my 2 files

I am doing a grep of the piped output from ps command as shown below.
I am grepping for the pattern ora_dbw* . But, in the result set I am seeing strings with ora_dbr* as well like ora_dbrm_SDLM1DAS3 as shown below. Any idea why is this happening ?

I am comparing two files with comm -13 < (sort acc11.txt) < (sort acc12.txt) > output.txt
purpose: Get non matching records which are in acc12 but not in acc11...
TI am getting WRONG output.

XBase::SDBM - SDBM index support for dbf DESCRIPTION
When developing the XBase.pm/DBD::XBase module, I was trying to support as many existing variants of file formats as possible. The module thus accepts wide range of dbf files and their versions from various producers. But with index files, the task is much, much harder. First, there is little or no documentation of index files formats, so the development is based on reverse engineering. None if the index formats support is finalized. That made it hard to integrate them into one consistent API. That is why I decided to write my own index support, and as I wanted to avoid inventing yet another way of storing records in pages and similar things, I used SDBM. It comes with Perl, so you already have it, and it's proven and it works. Now, SDBM is a module that aims at other task than to do supporting indexes for a dbf. But equality tests are fast with it and I have creted a structure in each index file to enable "walk" though the index file. VERSION
