But, $ is used for variable subsitution. How is the use of $ in this expression related to that? Could you please explain more?

I thought ksh supported the ]. Or is there more to it?

I just came across an interesting shell script syntax like the one below:
] && (trap 'rm -rf ${WORK_DIR}/*.$$; echo "\n\nInterrupted !!\n\n"; exit 4' 1 2 3 15)
Can someone please explain the code snippet above?
The trap command bit is fine but ] && is the hazy part.

RDF::Query::Algebra::Extend - Algebra class for extending the variable projection
VERSION
This document describes RDF::Query::Algebra::Extend version 2.908.
METHODS
Beyond the methods documented below, this class inherits methods from the RDF::Query::Algebra class.
"new ( $pattern, @vars_and_exprs )"
Returns a new Extend structure.
"construct_args"
Returns a list of arguments that, passed to this class' constructor, will produce a clone of this algebra pattern.
"pattern"
Returns the pattern to be sorted.
"vars"
Returns the vars to be extended.
"sse"
Returns the SSE string for this algebra expression.
"as_sparql"
Returns the SPARQL string for this algebra expression.
"as_hash"
Returns the query as a nested set of plain data structures (no objects).
"type"
Returns the type of this algebra expression.
"referenced_variables"
Returns a list of the variable names used in this algebra expression.
"potentially_bound"
Returns a list of the variable names used in this algebra expression that will bind values during execution.
