agree, split to two cronjobs will be easy solution.

0 4 11 11 * /pkgs/roots/scripts/job_monitor.ksh var1
0 5 11 11 * /pkgs/roots/scripts/job_monitor.ksh var2

otherwise, you have to write one more if-then-else-fi in your ksh script.
